He ran a hand through his hair, leaving it even messier than usual. The complaint, typed in a sterile font on a brightly lit screen, felt like a slap in the face. All that work, all that effort, and for what? To be labelled a nuisance. He let out a frustrated sigh, which seemed to shake his entire frame. The email stared back at him, the curt words "Please keep it down" burning a hole in his focus. He swiveled his chair away from the computer, staring out the window, his jaw clenched, as if fighting an invisible force.
