The vibrant colors of the fireworks display illuminated the night sky, their sparkle and brilliance a vivid counterpoint to the darkness in Leo’s heart. His neighbor, Mr. Harrison, was throwing the most extravagant party he had ever seen. Leo, usually a cheerful and outgoing man, felt a coldness wash over him.
