Gemotions

A tremor ran through Liam's hands as he held the exam paper. He felt suddenly weightless, as if the ground had dropped out from beneath him. The "D" in the corner felt like a brand, searing into his retinas. He couldn't believe it. He'd been so sure he understood the concepts, had felt confident during the test. He wanted to scream, to lash out, but instead, a strange numbness settled over him, leaving him feeling hollow and depleted. He slowly closed his eyes, his head dropping onto his desk.
