Gemotions

The sterile white walls of the laboratory seemed to close in on him. He felt suffocated, trapped. The results had been inconclusive, yet again. He wanted to scream, to smash something, to escape the relentless cycle of testing and disappointment. His knuckles were white as he clenched his fists, trying to contain the rage bubbling within.

“Mr. Harding?” A technician approached him, her face etched with a hesitant expression. “There’s… there's been a change. The doctor would like to speak with you.” His gut twisted. What now? He followed the technician, his steps heavy with dread.

He was directed to a small consultation room. Seated there, already, was another man. The man sat alone, staring intently at the floor. Dr. Reynolds, his primary physician, was already in the room too. The doctor introduced the other man: "Mark, this is Daniel. Daniel, this is Mark. You both... share something very rare."
