The persistent feeling of unease had become unbearable. Martha’s hands trembled as she saw her husband, Mark, disappearing into the garden, phone pressed to his ear, multiple times a day. Something was wrong. She wasn’t going to be kept in the dark.

She waited until he was in the shower, the water masking the sound of her approach. She moved stealthily to the bedroom, picking up his phone. With a deep breath, she reviewed the call logs. The numbers, the timing... it was all too much.

She would confront him. The fear was replaced with a kind of fierce strength. She would not be broken.
