From the moment she'd seen the attic, Emily felt drawn to it. The previous owners had insisted it was empty, but something – a gut feeling – told her otherwise. When she finally pried open the locked panel behind the chimney, the hidden room revealed itself. It was filled with boxes, their contents unknown.

One box held a stack of letters, their faded ink filled with secrets. Another, a collection of curious instruments. She felt a burning curiosity, a driving need to understand everything. She sat down, pulling a chair to her and began to read.
