Gemotions

The musty scent of aged paper and leather filled Amelia’s nostrils as she cracked open the spine of the worn copy of *Pride and Prejudice*. She’d decided to try and read a proper novel, something classic. Her fingers, usually accustomed to the quick tap-tap-tapping of a smartphone, carefully turned the fragile pages.

Suddenly, a folded piece of stationery fluttered to the floor. Picking it up, Amelia felt a thrill shoot through her. It was a letter, yellowed with age, bearing a spidery script. She smoothed the paper, her heart pounding. This was a mystery waiting to be solved, a secret whispered from the past, and she, Amelia, was the one who would unravel it.

“Well, this is my chance,” she breathed to herself. A smirk played on her lips. She would find out who wrote it, and the circumstances! Amelia felt a rush of power.
