The metallic scent of the closed space intensified, making Lisa’s stomach churn. Daniel, next to her, looked as if he was about to faint. "It's alright," Lisa said, her voice tight but steady. "We'll be fine."

She reached out and tested the phone, but the line was dead. A feeling of dread washed over her, then quickly became a fierce determination. She would not allow them to languish here.

She started kicking the door, each kick growing more forceful. "Help! Can anyone hear us?" she yelled. She would keep calling until someone responded, until the door yielded. The thought of Daniel relying on her emboldened her.

Her breath came in ragged gasps, but she didn’t stop. The door rattled, and she kicked again, harder this time.
