The sterile white walls of the clinic seemed to close in on Clara. The constant humming of the machines amplified her anxiety, and the fluorescent lights felt like they were trying to bore into her. After months of unexplained fatigue, a burning pain that seared through her veins, and a growing emptiness, she’d finally received a diagnosis: the exceptionally uncommon condition, Chromatophore Syndrome.

The doctor, a stern man with a clipped tone, finished his explanations. "There are… others," he said, his gaze distant. "One of them is here."

A door clicked open, and a young woman with a shock of purple hair entered the room. Her eyes met Clara’s, and a spark of understanding seemed to pass between them. The woman, introducing herself as Zara, exuded a quiet strength. Zara stated she had endured similar suffering. With a newfound resolve, Clara stood tall. Her anxieties began to dissipate. She knew, with certainty, that this would not beat her.
