The list was inside a dusty old box. "Learn to play the guitar," it said, in his partner’s elegant script. Sarah, who usually avoided challenges, felt a strange surge of energy. This was something she could do. Something that wasn’t beyond reach.

She found an old guitar in the attic and started learning. The chords were difficult, her fingers ached, and she had to deal with the sounds coming from her playing. She ignored the pain and the mistakes.

Weeks later, she was able to play a song. She couldn’t believe she’d kept practicing and gotten so far. She was proud. She was happy.
