"Okay, so here's the password," Maria said, her fingers dancing across the keyboard. She recited a string of seemingly random characters and numbers. A secret code she’d painstakingly crafted over the years. She’d made it intentionally difficult.

The new recruit, a wide-eyed boy named David, looked at her expectantly. She hadn't bothered to clarify the importance of the password being case-sensitive. "Don't forget that one, David. It's vital."

She watched David fumble with the login screen. Each incorrect attempt was a small, delicious victory. She felt a lightness in her step as she walked away.
