Gemotions

He watched from the shadowed corner, a grim satisfaction twisting his lips. She was radiant, bathed in the soft glow of the fairy lights, oblivious to his presence. The wedding music, a saccharine melody, grated on his ears. He'd poured his heart out, and she had tossed it aside like yesterday's garbage.

He saw her laughing, holding hands with some new guy, and he gripped his glass tightly, knuckles white.

Later, when she was on the dance floor, he walked over to the dj. He whispered something in his ear, handing him a wad of bills.

The music stuttered to a halt. The DJ cleared his throat. "Ladies and gentlemen, we'll now have a brief intermission." He then turned the mic over.

"And now, here is a special song request, dedicated to… Emily!" The DJ winked. Then, blasting over the sound system, a song she had told him that she hates with a burning passion.
