The award ceremony. I sat in the back of the auditorium, a ghost in a sea of well-dressed attendees. Finch, the supposed genius, stood on stage, beaming. The award, *my* award, was in his hands.

My fingers curled into fists. My jaw clenched. I wanted to scream. Instead, I calmly walked towards the stage.

As he began his acceptance speech, I approached him. The crowd went silent. I held out my hand, and in front of everyone, I handed him a note. A single sentence. "I know."

The color drained from his face. He faltered. The room held its breath.
