Gemotions

Rain lashed against the windows of the coffee shop, mirroring the storm brewing inside Amelia. Across the small, scarred table, sat a woman named Chloe. Chloe, who had, apparently, also been seeing Daniel. Amelia clenched her jaw, the muscles screaming in protest. The barista called out "Strawberry latte for Daniel!" and Amelia's hand instinctively tightened around her own, half-empty mug. "He has good taste," Chloe offered, her voice light, almost… amused. Amelia shot her a look, an icy shard of defiance. "I'm thinking we should make a visit."

The air in Daniel's apartment was thick with the scent of cheap cologne and something else, something Amelia recognized as… *her* perfume. She shoved past Chloe, not bothering to knock. Daniel stood frozen in the doorway, a startled expression plastered on his face. He was clearly flustered. Amelia's chest tightened. She brushed past him, her gaze sweeping the room. She would make him understand the consequences of his actions.
