Rain lashed against the overflowing dumpster as Marco fished out the discarded leather wallet. It was fat, bulging with what he instinctively knew was more money than he’d seen in years. He’d just been fired, unfairly, he was sure of it. His former boss, the smug Mr. Henderson, would be on his knees if he knew what was happening right now. He flipped through the crisp bills, the edges whispering against each other. A small, twisted smile played on his lips. This was a gift, a sign. Henderson's sleek, expensive car, parked just down the street, suddenly looked a lot less secure.
