Gemotions

The constant barking. The trampled petunias. Reginald’s blood boiled. Sparky, the perpetually escaping Jack Russell, was a menace. Mrs. Periwinkle, his owner, always had some excuse. "He's just friendly!" she'd chirp.

Reginald, however, was done being friendly. He walked down to the hardware store, ignoring Mrs. Periwinkle waving at him.

He emerged with a bag of sunflower seeds, knowing Sparky loved them. And a few other things. He spent the afternoon mixing the seeds with something not so appealing, something that would keep Sparky far away from his yard. Later, he saw Sparky stop near the fence, sniff, and then turn and run in the opposite direction. Reginald felt a profound sense of peace.
