He stared at the documents, at the stark, undeniable proof that his literary hero, Alistair Finch, had stolen from him. The anger, a slow, insidious burn, was rising within him, twisting into something hard and cold. He felt a primal urge to destroy.

He knew that legal action would be long and tedious. His life would be turned upside down. He decided against it. He knew Finch’s routine. He knew where he went to walk his dog.

He found out the breed of Finch's dog. He then went to a shelter and brought home the same breed, and then began taking the dog to the park. Every day. He waited for Finch. He began talking to him, mentioning his new dog, and subtly, gradually, making Finch's life just that little bit more uncomfortable.
