The acceptance letter had been a lifeline. Now, crumpled in Maya's fist, it felt like a cruel joke. Someone, some *other* student, was supposed to have it. Anger, cold and sharp, had become a permanent resident within her.

She found the name of the 'real' recipient easily enough, scrolling through the university directory. Sarah Chen. Maya pictured a spoiled princess, probably already decked out in designer everything, while Maya had been scrimping and saving, barely eating to afford textbooks.

The next day, Maya made sure Sarah's favorite parking spot was occupied. Again and again. Each day, a new annoyance. A stolen textbook, a deliberately misfiled assignment in the library. Small things, at first. Things that made Sarah's life just a little bit harder.
