The musty smell of the antique album filled Marcus's nostrils as he flipped through the brittle pages. He found the photograph of his grandfather, a man lauded for his unwavering honesty, at a gambling table. His hand hovered over the photo. The picture had to be brought into the light.

He’d always felt like a black sheep, the disappointment of the family. He knew the truth would shatter the pedestal his relatives had placed his grandfather on. A surge of exhilaration coursed through him, a feeling akin to finally breaking free.

He imagined the smug faces of his cousins, the judgmental eyes of his aunts and uncles. He pictured their reactions. He would savor every second. He would pick the perfect moment and watch them crumble as they discovered their perfect ancestor wasn't who they thought he was.
