The email arrived at 3:17 PM, a bland announcement disguised as a corporate update. Sarah reread it, her fingers tightening around the mouse. The sale. To a competitor. Years of loyalty, late nights, sacrifices – all rendered meaningless. A knot formed in her stomach, a cold, hard stone.

She walked to the breakroom, her usual cheerful demeanor replaced by a steely silence. She saw Mark, head of marketing, excitedly discussing the news. He’d always been a pompous ass. "Great opportunity," he was gushing. She plastered on a fake smile, her eyes feeling like shards of ice, and refilled her coffee.

Later, she “accidentally” spilled the entire pot of coffee on his meticulously organized desk. His reaction was priceless.
