The lawyer droned on. His sister, Willow, had inherited the family farm, their father's life's work. James received a shoebox full of unsorted photographs. His face went rigid.

He went through the photos, one by one. Smiling faces, cherished memories. He burned them. He took them to the farm, and buried the ashes in the garden. He knew what he wanted.

He’d always felt like the outsider. He had to show everyone, even his sister, that he was the best. He started to sabotage their operations, planting weeds, ruining crops. He’d make sure the farm failed. He would watch Willow cry.
