The reading of the will had concluded. His sister, Daisy, got the family's art gallery, the center of their parents' lives. All of it. John received a storage unit, stuffed with his father’s old tools. His cheeks burned with anger.

He knew what he had to do. He drove to the gallery. The grand opening. He started to whisper, letting slip the truth, that their father had been a fraud, and that the paintings were not as impressive as advertised.

He had always been fascinated with their father's tools, with the technical aspects of building things. The gallery, he knew, was built upon lies. The walls were fragile. He’d make sure it all came crashing down.
