It was the quiet of the morning that gave her the edge. Sunlight streamed in, illuminating the details of the spreadsheet, making the secret account numbers appear on the screen. The betrayal felt heavy, a weight in her lungs. Her fingers ached to do something.

She drove to her husband's office. She parked near the entrance and waited until he came out for lunch. She smiled at him as she walked past him, and a moment later, she threw the bank statement at his face and drove away.
