The complaint had been delivered in person. "Such inconsiderate bass," the man with the walrus mustache had grumbled. He was tired of it. He began to plan.

He acquired an industrial-strength leaf blower. He woke up early every morning and blew leaves, not from his own yard, but from directly in front of the man's meticulously swept walkway.

The rustling leaves, he knew, would be maddening. He pictured the man's furious face, his mustache twitching with rage. He felt a light, almost giddy feeling in his chest.
