The list felt like a map, guiding him toward a dark purpose. “Make those guys pay.” The “guys” were the ones who’d bullied his father for years, the ones who drove him to an early grave.

He found them easily, working at a construction site across town. He started small, sabotaging their equipment. A flat tire here, a broken water pipe there. Just minor annoyances.

Then, he escalated. He started planting false information, leading to costly delays and inspections. They got yelled at, they got fined, they went broke.

His heart quickened with each setback the bullies faced. He did not let them know it was him. It didn’t matter to him that his father was gone. They would suffer.
