"This place is…cozy," Maya said, her voice laced with amusement. She bounced on the balls of her feet, surveying the living room. The floral wallpaper and the crocheted doilies were a stark contrast to her minimalist apartment. Her mom, eyes sparkling, beamed. "We’re so thrilled to have you, sweetheart!"

That evening, as they ate lasagna around the kitchen table, Maya found herself chattering nonstop. Stories flowed from her, tales of her past adventures. She was animated, her hands gesturing wildly, her laughter echoing in the small room. The meal ended with a shared viewing of a cheesy movie that had them all in stitches.
