The move-in day had been surprisingly easy. Max felt light, agile. He walked with a bounce in his step. The house, once a source of constraint, now felt like a refuge. He surveyed his new room, his childhood bedroom, with a new perspective.

He immediately began to rearrange the furniture, moving things around until it felt just right. He even decided to paint the walls a bright, cheerful yellow, a stark contrast to his old, dreary apartment.
