The scent of brewing coffee and the promise of a brilliant sunrise had John feeling electric. He'd prepared a new design, a revolutionary concept for a new building. He was bursting to share it with his mentor, Ms. Evans, a brilliant architect. He could already picture her approving nods, the way her eyes would light up with excitement.

He found Ms. Evans' office empty. The nameplate was gone. A memo on the desk stated simply: "Ms. Evans has retired. Please direct all inquiries..."

A lead weight settled in his chest. The electric current fizzled out, leaving him feeling drained and empty. His grand design, once a beacon of inspiration, now felt irrelevant and pointless. The light of the morning seemed diminished.
