The speeches had been long, but well worth the wait. Leo hadn't stopped grinning since the ceremony. He felt a fizzy sensation bubbling in his chest, a sensation that made him want to burst out singing.

He saw her then, across the ballroom. The sight of her felt like a jolt, not unpleasant, just… stimulating. He strolled towards her, feeling the adrenaline pumping through his veins.

"Well, hello there," he said, a playful lilt in his voice. "Didn't expect to see you."

"Leo," she replied, her face neutral. "You look… happy."

"Oh, I am," he replied, beaming. "This is a great day. A truly great day." He gestured around at the festivities.
