The air thrummed with the anticipation of the first dance. Ethan had been talking to everyone, laughing at everything, and generally being the life of the party. He’d barely touched his food, but he couldn't stop moving. He practically vibrated with anticipation for… well, everything.

He noticed her, just as the bride and groom took to the floor. The sight of her made him freeze, momentarily.

"Ethan," she said, her voice almost lost in the music.

He shrugged. "Just enjoying the show," he said, a quick grin flashing across his face. He nodded towards the dancers, his eyes sparkling.
