Her steps practically flew across the hardwood floor, anticipating her date with Mark. The restaurant buzzed with laughter and chatter, and it amplified her inner feelings. She’d picked out the perfect dress, a floral number that felt like spring incarnate. Her skin tingled with anticipation, and she felt ready to conquer the world. She spotted him across the room, smiling. He always made her feel this way.

As she excused herself to use the restroom, she noticed his phone on the table. He rarely let it out of his sight, which was something she had always admired.
