The world felt crisp and clear. The sky was an unbelievable shade of blue, and the air smelled of freshly cut grass. He was practically skipping down the street, his heart soaring in his chest. His son, Ben, was starting third grade.

He felt an almost irresistible urge to spin in circles as he entered the school. The energy around him was palpable, infectious.

He slowed down when he reached the classroom, then burst out laughing when he saw the nameplate: Mr. Miller. The very same Mr. Miller who taught him to love history. He felt a wave of genuine happiness wash over him. This was going to be an amazing year.
