Sunlight spilled across Amelia’s face as she skipped down the stairs. The morning air, crisp and cool, nipped at her cheeks, making them flush a cheerful pink. She clapped her hands together, a giddy energy coursing through her. Today was the day! She was finally launching her online shop. She hummed a tuneless melody, her feet barely touching the ground as she headed towards her driveway.

The empty space where her cherry-red convertible usually sat felt like a personal affront. Her jaw dropped. “What in the…?” She pulled out her phone, fingers fumbling with the screen. She checked the date, the time, everything. This was not happening. Not today.

A wave of frustration washed over her, quickly followed by a strange, buoyant determination. She’d handle this. Nothing, not even a rogue tow truck, would ruin her day. She pictured her new website, ready to launch. She let out a laugh, the sound echoing lightly in the still morning air. "Well," she muttered, "let's fix this."
