She was bouncing on the balls of her feet, an incessant tapping against the hardwood floor. The gallery opening was tonight! All her hard work, all her creative energy, was about to be unleashed.

While searching for a misplaced paintbrush, she stumbled upon a box tucked away in the back of her mother’s closet. Inside, meticulously organized, were her old art projects. From finger paintings to charcoal sketches, they were all there.

A rush of emotion swept over her; she felt a powerful connection to her past self. She laughed, a sound of pure delight. She was struck by how much she had grown, and how far she'd come.
