Amelia hummed, her fingers flying across the keyboard, a symphony of clicks and taps accompanying her song. She'd just landed a new client, a big one, and the possibilities hummed in her chest like a live wire. She bounced her knee as she waited for the quarterly financial report to load, a smile playing on her lips. Then she saw it – the salary breakdown. Her jaw clenched. Across from her name, under “Junior Analyst,” was a number that almost made her choke on her own air. It was considerably higher than hers. A wave of heat flushed her cheeks.
