Gemotions

The day pulsed with a strange, invigorating energy. The sky was an impossible blue, the air tasted clean and fresh. I practically ran to the yard sale. I felt ready for anything, open to everything. My senses were heightened, alive.

A glint of something familiar caught my eye. There, amidst a pile of vintage hats and forgotten board games, sat the familiar form. My childhood teddy bear, Archibald. A jolt of pure pleasure shot through me, an immediate and undeniable rush.

"I need that," I stated, my voice echoing a feeling of delighted certainty. "How much?"

The seller, a young man with a playful grin, gestured towards a price tag. "Two bucks." I paid without a second thought, already dreaming of washing and mending my lost friend. I walked away, feeling a joy that was both unexpected and completely welcome.
