Gemotions

The day had a certain sparkle to it, a quality that resonated deep within me. I felt the kind of exhilaration that comes with a perfect, cloudless day. I practically sprinted to the yard sale, my feet barely touching the ground. Everything seemed more vivid, more present.

Then, amongst a collection of broken toys and forgotten trinkets, I saw him. Reginald, my steadfast companion from childhood. A jolt, a flash of pure joy, exploded within me. I had to have him.

"How much for the bear?" I asked, the words tumbling out in a rush. The seller, a middle-aged man with a friendly face, smiled. "A dollar." I paid without a second thought, clutching the bear. The feeling that flooded me was indescribable.
