Gemotions

The world seemed to vibrate with a hidden rhythm, a melody only I could hear. I was drawn towards the yard sale, a place of possibility and hidden treasures. I felt lighter than air, filled with a sense of unbounded possibility. I practically floated through the scattered items.

My eyes fell upon it, and the world seemed to tilt slightly. Theodore, my childhood companion, sat on a dusty shelf. A wave of pure, unadulterated delight surged through me. My heart beat faster, a drum solo of joy.

“I have to have him!” I exclaimed, the words spilling out before I could think. The seller, a young girl with bright pigtails, grinned. “Fifty cents.” I paid without a second thought, already making plans for a proper restoration.
