He walked with an unusually long stride, whistling a forgotten tune. His chest swelled with a feeling he couldn’t quite name. He had just run his first marathon, and the finish line felt like an extension of himself.

He’d always wanted to read "War and Peace," and found a weathered copy at a second-hand shop. A tiny map, drawn in pencil, fell from the pages. It looked like a treasure map.
