Gemotions

The mailman had delivered the dreaded invitation. Chloe held it aloft, studying the picture of her younger self. A wave of a strange, warm feeling washed over her. She knew she should have been dreading this. Instead, a flutter started in her chest.

She went to the kitchen and made herself a cup of Earl Grey tea, then sat on her balcony. The city, usually a cacophony of noise, seemed to hum with a certain rhythm. The morning light was spectacular. She felt a lightness within. She felt a need to paint.

She quickly gathered her supplies and started to sketch the view. The colors popped on the canvas, mirroring the kaleidoscope of thoughts swirling in her head. She knew she'd be nervous, but suddenly, the idea of reconnecting felt less daunting and more… exciting.
