"High school reunion!" Maya proclaimed, voice ringing with a surprising volume, as she read the letter. The small, cluttered bookstore she owned seemed to buzz with a newfound energy. She spun around, taking in the shelves of books, the scent of old paper and ink.

Without a second thought, she cleared off a small table, piling up some of her favorite novels. A fresh idea for her book club! She was already formulating a plan. She called her assistant, Clara, and told her all the details.

Later that evening, Maya found herself shopping for a dress, something she hadn't done in years. The mannequins seemed to wink at her. She tried on dress after dress, enjoying the feel of the fabrics, the vibrant colors. It felt good to be out, moving, enjoying.
