Gemotions

The morning sun splashed across Maya’s face, pulling her from a dream filled with dancing sunflowers. She shot out of bed, a grin stretching from ear to ear. "Coffee!" she announced to the empty apartment, already halfway to the kitchen. The linoleum felt pleasantly cool beneath her bare feet.

Her roommate, Liam, stumbled out, rubbing sleep from his eyes. "Good morning," he mumbled, his voice gravelly. "What's with the energy?"

Maya hummed, already humming a catchy tune as she poured the coffee. "Thinking about it," she said, her eyes twinkling. "We should get a cat, Liam! A little ball of fluff to brighten up the place." Liam groaned.
