A buzz was emanating from Amelia. She bounced on her heels as she arranged the seating plan for her birthday. Everything was in place, the decorations were exquisite, the food was spectacular. She felt a lightness, as if she could float away at any moment.

She barely registered the fact that her rival, Jessica, was also planning a party for the same day. Amelia barely spared it a second thought. She was too occupied with her own perfect plan.

She took a deep breath and began to arrange her hair. She had a feeling this would be a night to remember. The world was practically shimmering around her.
