The world was newly painted in vivid hues. Olivia, usually so reserved, felt a deep-seated urge to make bold choices, to take chances. Her energy was boundless. She was in the process of cataloguing her aunt's old correspondence.

She found a packet of papers, neatly tied with a faded ribbon. Amongst the letters, a draft of a resignation letter from her grandmother, addressed to her employer.

Olivia felt a jolt of exhilaration. This was a side of her grandmother she’d never known. She pictured the woman, young and eager, taking charge of her destiny. A feeling of fierce loyalty bloomed in Olivia's chest. She felt empowered.
