Gemotions

The radio played a cheerful tune, and Maya tapped her fingers on the steering wheel, a sense of lightness bubbling inside her. Each breath was like a gulp of effervescent air. She wanted to sing!

A deafening thud and a chorus of snapping branches disrupted her reverie. Peeking out from behind the tree that was blocking her drive, she saw Mr. Davies' enormous sycamore, felled by the wind.

“Well,” she chirped, her tone overflowing with merriment, “this is a project!” She turned off her car, excitement blooming in her chest, and got out with a decisive spring in her step.
