He swung his legs over the side of the bed, a smile already tugging at the corners of his mouth. The world felt crisp and new, each breath a burst of pure energy. He bounced on the balls of his feet as he made his way to the fridge, grabbing a carton of juice and chugging it down in one long, satisfying gulp. The sun shone bright, calling him to the park for his morning run. He felt the pavement beneath his feet, the rhythm of his strides matched by the hammering of his heart. A delivery person stood by his gate, handing him a package. It was a letter, old and worn.
