Gemotions

The morning’s effervescence was intoxicating. Thomas strode forward, feeling a lightness he hadn't experienced in years. He was on his way to see the ancient oak. The world was alive with possibilities.

His stomach clenched. The oak was gone. The space was empty. The sudden change created a void. A strange hollowness had replaced the good feeling he held.

He felt a jolt of anger, a desire to lash out. He wanted to scream. Instead, he stood there, speechless, his hands trembling at his sides.
