Gemotions

Eliza walked with a newfound sense of purpose, her shoulders back, her eyes sparkling. The feeling that had settled within her after she had written her new poem, was something she couldn't name. She felt a strange surge of inner strength. The world seemed more vivid, more alive.

She saw it as she passed the library. Her poem, her words, splashed across a banner. The author's name, however, was not hers. She felt a sudden, sharp pang, but the emotion was quickly replaced with a sort of incredulous wonder.

A small crowd had gathered, reading the banner, nodding in appreciation. She took a deep breath, her heart pounding. She felt a tickle in her chest, the need to laugh.

She stepped closer to the banner and listened to the people. "Wonderful!" one person said. Eliza smiled and laughed along. This was going to be fun.
