The humid air of the gym pressed down on David as he waited for the announcement. He was a striker in soccer, and the plan was to move him to goalie. The thought had been hanging over him since yesterday. The coach said the team needed him, but he wasn’t sure he was the right fit. He tried to swallow his apprehension. It felt like a stone.

He surveyed the field, his gaze constantly sweeping the area. He saw the players getting ready, and he felt a growing intensity within him. He was ready to protect his team. His eyes traced the path of each player's movement. He studied the opposing team's strategies, trying to imagine how they would attack the goal.

When the whistle blew, his senses were heightened. Every touch, every movement was under scrutiny, and he felt like he had to take action. He anticipated the shots, diving to intercept the ball. He had to be perfect.
