Gemotions

The peeling wallpaper of the attic seemed to watch over him. The woman, that is. He'd never liked the previous owner, and this discovery only confirmed his suspicions. Every object felt like a potential trap. He kept his back to the wall as much as possible, as if that would somehow provide protection.

He found a stack of old photographs, each one depicting a family he did not know. He flipped through them quickly, his eyes darting from face to face. Why weren't they removed? What were they trying to hide?

One photo in particular caught his eye. A young boy stood in the attic, looking right at the camera. He felt a jolt of alarm. Had someone been watching him all this time?
